If you are traveling in a group through Puerto Rico you may find that it is very worth your while to charter a boat. Boat chartering is also a fantastic way to explore the Caribbean as a whole, making stops at various ports and seaside towns along the way, such as Ponce, Aguadilla and Fajardo. There are many options for those who wish to charter a boat in Puerto Rico. If you aren't familiar with boats then you will likely go for the crewed charter option. On the other hand, if you are an experienced sailor you can go for the "bareboat" option. Another option for travelers is the skippered bareboat if you would like to take on the role as crew under the direction of an experienced skipper.

Your choice will also depend on the kind of experience you are looking for. If you want to simply sit back, relax and enjoy the view then the crewed charter is for you as even meals are taken care of by the cook. One of the best ways to locate a boat to charter in Puerto Rico is to approach a charter broker. These are essentially travel agents who will assist you in finding the ideal yacht and crew to suit your requirements.

Your budget will play a very large role in the choice of your yacht. The bigger the yacht, the bigger your budget will have to be. Experience has shown that one of the most popular sized boats for bareboat charter is a 36 foot to 50 foot with 3 cabins and two bathrooms. Catamarans are a good option for those who are hitting the waters for the first time and for families. Look out for various features offered on the different boats that will contribute to smooth sailing and comfort for all aboard.

Boat chartering is not only for the experienced sailor, but even those who have never been aboard a boat are certain to enjoy traveling along the Caribbean waters surrounding Puerto Rico. So if you are looking for an amazing vacation activity in Puerto Rico, one that you will never forget, why not contact a boat charter merchant now.

Hello, I am visiting the island in January and will be in San Juan. I want to take my wife on a nice boat/catamaran. Just the two of us and the crew on board. I read about one tour in Rincon that offers a private romantic sunset cruise with champagne/appetizers. Unfortunately Rincon is a little too far for me. Is there something like this in San Juan?

Do any of the 20 lakes in PR offer boat rentals? If so, which ones? Thanks...
