Puerto Rican professional boxer, Juan Manuel Lopez (also known as Juanma) currently holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Bantamweight/Junior Featherweight title. Lopez has represented Puerto Rico in a number of tournaments, first as an amateur boxer and later as a professional boxer.
There is a new legend in the making, in Puerto Rico, and his name is Miguel Cotto. His determination to become the best in the world of boxing is becoming a reality, as his number of winning fights and popularity increases. When fighting in Puerto Rico, organizers are almost guaranteed a crowd of approximately fourteen thousand screaming fans, as they flock to the boxing arena to see their local hero in action.
Not many people associate Puerto Rico with the Olympics but this great country has long been a participant in the greatest international sporting competition in the world. Success at the Olympics has enabled some famous Puerto Ricans to enjoy widespread popularity outside heir own country. Juan Venegas is one of those legendary Puerto Rican Olympians.
