Be Sure Not to Miss Las Croabas
If you travel 35 miles east of San Juan in the county of Fajardo, you will find a little fishing village by the name of Las Croabas. This village has an estimated population of twenty-eight thousand one hundred and fifty-four people.
It is here in this stunning village that visitors will find one of the most complete destinations on the island - a place where every guest individually pampered. The original hotel, which was established in 1980, closed down but was later remodeled and the final product was reopened in 1993, completely reborn. Today the Wyndham El Conquistador is a beautifully designed Spanish-styled hotel with rooms built directly onto the side of the cliff. It’s graced with mystical archways, relaxing fountains and scenic views that defy comprehension. The hotel is held in high esteem and features both a golf and casino arena that cover over 500 acres of land within the little village. The entire structure is situated along a 300 foot cliff where the vast majesty of the Atlantic and Caribbean become one.
Interestingly, Las Croabas has been placed as the sixth city on the island in terms of having the most casinos in Puerto Rico. The Wyndham El Conquistador is the only casino in Las Croabas - but it is a massive one. Here you will find 442 gaming machines and 182 table games. If you feel the need for some pampering, a trip to the Golden Door Spa will fulfill your every desire. Guests are also spoilt with wonderful boutiques, shops, music and art displays which can be finished off with a gentle stroll down the La marina Village walkway.
Close to the city of Las Croabas lies the nature reserve of Las Cabezas de San Juan. It's here that the curious visitors staying at the Wyndham El Conquistador can choose to be surrounded by the beautiful coral reefs, domineering mangroves and the breathlessly tranquil bay.
Las Croabas is also very well known for some of its local restaurants. Otello’s is Italian-based with a choice of both indoor and outdoor seating in the old tradition. Here the chef is specifically known for his amazing selection of vegetarian, poultry, shrimp and fish dishes. If seafood is your forte then Blossoms is the place to be. And you'll find good old 1950's American-styled food at the Isabela’s grill. So set and date and come and enjoy a luxurious holiday at Las Croabas.
