In Puerto Rico it is a common event for each town to celebrate its own particular saint. In the case of Arecibo they commemorate the patron saint, San Felipe Apostol.

Description:

From the 8th of May to the 12th of May, Arecibo will be holding a festival dedicated to the patron saint, San Felipe Apostol. It’s a great time of celebrations for the locals. Visitors will get to experience the wonderful local traditions through their food and music, as well as join in the fun with the many contests offered during the four day festival.
