The Mavi Carnival is a time of great festivities in Juana Diaz, so if you’re visiting Puerto Rico in April make sure to make a note!
Description:
It seems in Puerto Rico just about anything and everything is celebrated in one form or another, depending on the town and its traditions. During the month of April the town of Juana Diaz finds itself celebrating the fermentation of a drink specifically made from the bark of a tree, and this is no ordinary tree, it’s that of the Ironwood or Colubrina Reclinata tree.
Of course a true festival would not be the same if celebrations did not include local dancing, colorful parades, as well as the local food, a feast on its own!
