Nelson says this folks:
The power of the voter in cases like this is so crucial. We have the power, but we don't use it. Don't blame capitalism for that.
The power of the voter? Right now the vast majority of voters want universal health care. Why haven't they gotten it? Because the real POWER is no longer in the average voter. It is in the corporations and the lobbyists.
You see I have a totally different philosophy than you Nelson. I don't believe that whole systems like the political system and the economic system spring out the way they do because individuals refuse to exercise their votes. There is a logic to the decadence you describe. But, you as all conservatives do, will blame individuals and never the people in positions of power for the problem. You say, vote them out. Lol. The truth is the average USA citizen either is apathetic as you say. WHY? Has it ever occurred to you that the power players have outmaneuvered the average citizen. And many still think that the Capitalist class are some good ole boy Country bumpkins who look out for their interests. It reminds me of Miranda's trailer park dwellers who are toothless and wave the flag high as they continue to languish in unemployment and don't connect the dots. The PEOPLE have not been in charge of making decisions in Washington DC for quite a while. And I think there is not much difference between the DEMONS or the REPUKES in Washington.
And sorry I am not some fascist Nelson. I don't throw people out of countries they were born to or in, simply because they don't agree with their governments' economic or political philosophies. I don't go for that myopic thinking. I never did. Though if the capitalist fat cats lose power and want to retake it after being ousted, I would make sure they stayed without power. I don't let the abusive types 'freedoms' they don't deserve. I am not naive.
To you it is all about human nature. So was slavery, and child labor and so on at some time. Doesn't make it right then, and it certainly doesn't make it right now. To me and any socialist worth their salt, capitalism is about and will always be about, the relationship one has between owners and non-owners, the relationship between the upper and ruling classes and the non-ruling classes and how the negotiate power relationships in history. It is inherently a class distinction society and it must have control of the labor of the many in order to expand and grow and reinvest, market and consume. That is what it is about. If it can't do that it can't perpetuate itself. And capitalism has to perpetuate itself. Or it dies.
Miranda here thinks that Puerto Ricans are used to getting something for nothing. Los BENEFICIOS de la estadidad. I am here to let Miranda and others know, that only the really IDIOTIC believe that a nation like the USA gives away federal monies without any self-interest involved. OUT of the goodness of their liberal ad conservative bleeding hearts---who feel for the poor and oppressed downtrodden INFERIOR mongrel race Caribbean masses. NOPE, I don't believe that for one nanosecond. NO! They give the 'beneficios' to pacify Puerto Rico cuz they know that the island is occupied by too many non-English speaking 'different' types and they need to keep them happy to control many things in that area of the world and keep their money and their interests going. When that area of the world is no longer of interest to them or they lose so much money and world power that they can't even subsidize their imperial needs all over the globe the end of the supposed gravy train will come and not even the statehooders with their Yankee Doodle pitiyanki garbage talk will suffice to quell the outrage and the panic and the dazed looks of confusion that will follow all the hoodwinked and dense in Puerto Rico. Guaranteed. Ask the "INDIANS" if the USA government was not speaking with forked tongue a long time ago when it comes to getting something for nothing. Aint nothing FREE with the USA feds. NOPE. If you pay late on your taxes you have to pay penalties, but if they made a mistake and they owe you money, they aint about to pay interest and fees. NO. Do you think a gov't like that one Miranda is giving away money for free cuz they like it? Or are they paying for something they NEED? YOU TELL ME MIRANDA.
There is always something they are getting out of it, if they were not, they would not put up the money in the first place. The "INDIANS" found that out about the good ole USA gov't a long time ago. Until the grass grows and the water flows is a bunch of lies. And another lie is to teach the Puerto Ricans the 'joys of democracy and fairness and justice and the American way.' I don't think so. SORRY.
In order to run a campaign nowadays you got to raise a lot of DOUGH. Serious DOUGH. The kind of dough that your average Joe Blow in the USA can never raise. That eliminates a lot of people. It sure does. And it is done on purpose. It is not the voter who is at fault. The voter has been led to believe naively and wrongly that their popular vote determines who gets to be in the White House, the Congress and the Judicial branch. Setting aside the 2000 vote with all the controversy involved....the truth is that the USA has become a corrupt plutocracy run by lobbyists and corporations who are in close relationships that are interdependent with all the people in DC making the big decisions. The voters are peripheral players and can be manipulated and even in some instances simply ignored in general. To think otherwise is foolish in today's political realities in the USA.
So many conservatives would be the first to flee the USA if it become third worldish and they can't make a living and Canada then flourishes and becomes a world power. Then they will switch loyalties to Canada and say they love that system cuz that system is the one who gave them a fat billfold. So, their accusations of 'go to Russia or Cuba' when I am a born and bred Boricua 100% on both sides is just another proof that their thinking is flawed and opportunistic. I stick to my ethnicity because it is my duty and my responsibility as a Puerto Rican. A thinking one. And whoever doesn't like it....too bad. To each thinking mind and know thyself....and be true to it. No matter how many want to exile you because you don't kowtow to those who screwed over your little island to begin with and don't fall for all those lies they threw over the years to make the Boricuas believe the USA government has their best interests at heart. No they don't. And so, since they don't. Why should I not criticize them everywhere on Earth? They did not do anything in Puerto Rico to merit loyalty. On the contrary all they have sown is dissent. The good kind. The kind they deserve in spades for their idiotic hipocrisy in stating they believe in freedom, independence, self-determination, free competition, and in a republican form of government yet hold colonies for over a century. They are a bunch of two-faced lying degenerates (the USA government) and aint gonna get either my respect or my confidence. EVER.
If you want to place your loyalties and respect with those lying sons of a gun who sell their souls to the highest bidder go ahead Nelson. I don't. Lol.
As far as I am concerned, they should have let us go our own way A LONG, LONG time ago. And since they did not. Que se chupen la critica por lo menos. POR LO MENOS. Por que los boricuas se han chupado sus guerritas inutiles por mucho tiempo ya.
The banks are predatory lifesucking vampires of the worst kind. And to think they should be paid back by consumers is heresy for me. Lol. They should all never pay back and let all the freeloading toads go under. All the money anyone makes should be communally pooled and given out according to need and to reasonable demands. Not out of control stupidities like so many do. No, I don't think being pro-capitalism is being a good Christian. If you were a good Christian you would hate capitalism as SATAN himself and fight it till your last breath. Lol. Literally. Hey, the Dead Sea Scroll scholars said the Essenes who Jesus of Nazareth came from had a code. You could not join their 'sect' unless you gave up all worldly possessions and took an oath to never allow wealth in a personal way to ever accumulate and create a separation between you and your fellow brother Essenes. All property had to be communal shared. Something that would be DEATH to your average Capitalist. So, if you are a Christian and still think being part of that thinking is ok. No. The Devil will be waiting for you on the other side.
Remember life is about balance. And anything that is done thinking of personal gain only is the root of all evil in life. And I have NO DOUBTS capitalistic thinking is the root of all evil. If people disagree alla ellos again.
BTW, all of you are welcome to comment. And be passionate about what you think and believe. This is just a message board. We are here to express ourselves and communicate. And hopefully have fun too!
