To kill because one values property, profit, utopias and inhumane ideologies more than life itself is the definition of lack of mental health. But human beings are not mentally healthy. It is true people batter this planet and all the life forms on it and each other as if they have somewhere else to go. The rapture is not an exit strategy. Neither is killing the planet for short term gain and exploitation.
If you don't respect nature and your own species of life, it is doubtful you will respect anything in this world. Human beings unless they mature and become reason based when dealing with each other and the environment are gonna self-destruct. Good thread Joshue.

You are right The economical model of today is extremely devastating, not only for the environment but also to the mind of people. It takes them on a self destruct path [good point on your part]. I don't know if you remember when we discus once that totalitarian elimination of individualism or the vice versa which is the world we live today are not good both are devastating, in my opinion. I understand for an example "Independentistas y Estadolibristas" because they are reacting on a phenomenon that this economical model brings which is the alienation of culture. In every part of the world that this economical model had touch, cultures get Alienated, not to mention the devastation of environment.
Your culture Is what makes you human, attacking it is attacking yourself. This is happening all over the world and the first victim is America itself, Neo conservatives had feared for years that American traditions, morals and values are going to disappeared but no culture is permanent and change is always the constant. What they cannot observe [I don't know if it is because they only think one step at a time] that what they promote, which is this capitalistic paradigm is the problem, because people abandon a culture but don't get a new one, because everything is about buy this or buy that.
