Aventura is about the only good thing going for bachata at this time because the rest of this genre is pretty much garbage (I MEAN THE THEMES).
The same could be said about reaggeton with the criminals and the guns and the posturing and the awful language. Very few good artists here also. I visited the island recently and being a musician myself I spoke to many in the know who say reggaeton is dead in the water. Seems to be doing OK in the states. Salsa is making a BIG comeback in PR because people are tired of the same themes of reaggeton. Me, I'm a big fan of Latin Jazz, but will also listen to good 'ol themes in any genre. Marc Anthony just "killed" in Mexico, they adore him.
