You and your friends were just the LUCKY ONES. However STATISTICS don't lie. The majority of Puerto Ricans brought up in the ghettos of Statehood are basically poor, with a large percentage still living on welfare. They share a culture of poverty with the Blacks. In fact, I would say, many have been COLONIZED and ASSIMILATED by American Ghetto Black Culture.
Some here would say, Clip, wait a minute! Those living in the ghettos can consume anything they want, that doesn't make them poor, it fact it makes them Middle Class!
Despite that many Ricans are able to comsume electronics at BEST BUY or buy them "HOT", they don't do it for educational purposes, but for entertainment, a little fact that tells you a lot. Many are decieved in thinking consumerism makes them middle class, however........
On the othe hand, some might have gone to college, but in MY EXPERIENCE, many have gone to some rinky dink diploma mills paid for by poverty funds.
Clue
Most would rather buy a Salsa CD than buy a book. If buying a book most prefer books with a lot of pictures a.k.a. comic books. Why?, So they won't have to read too much. That only shows you how backwards we are living in statehood.
Don't believe me?
1-A quick look at the yearly Puerto Rican day parade gives you a peek on how a great majority has done since 1945.
2-Once Puerto Ricans move into a neighborhood in Florida there is White flight. MMMMMMMMMM And I thought we were all American Citizens? The Gringos don't want to live near us, despite that Ricardo infers we are middle class and educated. LOL
