I am Pentecostal, so therefore I am Protestant and have nothing to defend Catholics for.
Lets explore the
facts:
The Spanish Inquisition persecuted and killed more Protestants than any other religion or group during the times when they were operative (1500's to 1700's). How many do you think they killed? Fact is the number of people killed directly by the Spanish Inquisition is 341,042
(see http://www.homeusers.prestel.co.uk/l...n/jminquis.htm)
Now lets see the fruits of
Progressive Thinking, that is, how many people were killed during the last one hundred years
in the Name of Human Progress and Socio-Economic Evolution:
In striving to achieve the "most advanced and perfect society the world will ever know", the NAZIS
(Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei - German's National Socialist German Workers' Party) killed 6 Million Jews, 2 Million Gipsies, 1 Million Communists, several thousands homosexuals, several tens of thousands mentally handicapped Germans, and about 20 to 30 Million soldiers and civilians in Russia and other nations during World War 2.
Stalin himself killed 30 Million of his own countrymen during mass repratiations of farmers, peasants and other Soviet Peoples in the implementation of Agricultural Collectivization and in Political Purgings inside the Soviet Empire.
Mao Tse Dung and his Cultural Revolutions killed anywhere between 30 to 100 Million Chinese Peoples and Minorities DIRECTLY in an effort to implement Communism.
Pol Pot killed 2 Million Cambodians (of a population of only 3 Million) in implementing his own Khmer Utopia.
Fidel Castro himself may have killed more than 200,000 of his countrymen directly via political purges and such, and it is a documented
FACT that there are more than 100,000 Cubans who have drowned while escaping the Cuban Utopia.
Add them all up buddy, and you will see that Today's
Progressive Thinking has killed more people in 100 years than the Spanish Inquisition and Spanish Conquest of the America's combined during the last 500 years.
Now, perhaps you are a
blue-eyed Gringo (99.9% European of Germanic genetic make up), but if you are like me, a Latin Mestizo with more Native American genes than he/she can imagine, then you will realize that Spain was not such a bad colonizer after all. Spaniards did conquer the great Native American Empires, but they were themselves swallowed up genetically by the Native Peoples of America, and this is not an accident since Spain itself has never been a racially pure nation to begin with, and the
Spanish type of Christianity, after all is said and done, has always been an
INCLUSIVE CULTURAL FACTOR, not like the
Germanic flavored Christianity, which has always leaned towards the barbaric side of
Ethnic Cleansing.
