Independentista's view of a free Puerto Rico


1. There will be no more poverty. Everyone will earn at least a minimum of $40,000 a year even as a coffee picker or sugar cane cutter.

2. Social services will be the best in the world and will not convey any increase in taxes, duties or tariffs.

3. All Puerto Ricans will be fluent in 4 languages : Spanish(of course), English, French and Chinese.

4. Puerto Rico will be able to negotiate with any country in the world, that is after they get all those billions from the US Guaili always talks about, in order to capitalize investment in the island.

5. The word corruption will be engraved in a stone along with the emblem of the PNP and the PPD and put in the Cuartel de Ballaja, as a reminder of Puerto Rico's dark ages.

6. FURA will be given two more "lanchitas" to do the job of the Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Customs and DEA, after all, the culprit of all the narcotics, counterfits and human smuggling was becuase of the "llanquees". Once the US is gone, those problems are gone with it.

7. Everyone in Puerto Rico will be a college graduate and most majors will be in computers and high tech fields, nonetheless, contrary to when PR was a colony, they will all stay in Puerto Rico and they will all have jobs in their area of study with a decent salary and benefits.

8. People will be raised like civilized human beings and there will be no more crimes, drugs, alcohol, prostitution or any other unethical or immoral activity.

9. Utopia will no longer be a fig of imagination but the real thing. Puerto Rico will become the real shining star not of the Caribbean but of the whole universe.

10. God tired of how things are going in heaven, will buy some beach property in Vieques (after the Navy is ousted of course) and move with his angels to the new heaven in Earth.

Virgil your lack of originality and stealing other people's formats made my day!! I laughed. If you no longer have any faith whatsover in politics fine...lol. Just go on and live your life in your country the USA. If you were intelligent and looked up one of my recent posts you would have noticed that I think if PR becomes independent there is gonna be a mass exodus, chaos and economic consequences in a big way. I am not some irrealistic idealist thinking money grows on trees....I am an independentista that knows that if you want self-determination you are gonna have to go through hell and pay for all the years of dependency before then. I just happen to believe that in the long run over decades and centuries those who try and struggle to resolve their own issues with international relations included will gain...in dignity and wisdom, self confidence and maturity....like all people learn from experiences. And I would much rather have independence than dependence any day of the week. Be productive, educate yourself, support yourself and cooperate with others....but if you keep waiting for Big Daddy or Big Mamma or big brother to solve your problems for you....you never grow up!! You guys want to be big brothers, big daddy and big mamma even when they say "we aint interested"....and like the old Billie Holliday song says....God Bless the Child thats got his Own...thats got his own....Momma may have and Poppa may have but God Bless the Child thats got his OWN!! And someday I think Puerto Rico will have to say "I got to get my own!!" whether Big Daddy approves or not....I got to do my own thing....hopefully we all stay in the family friendship way....but I can't stay like this!! Cuz I need my own!!! Lol.
