Beany Baby:

I can see you are still in your crib sucking your “bobito”. When I was loosing my first baby teeth thirty years ago the “marxistas” of Puerto Rico were exploding their first bombs around the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus (there was a student strike then). I remember having to stay at home because of the fear in the general population when those events happened. As the 1970’s went along there was one airline highjack after another by some Leftist group or another. I tell you, it was more dangerous to be in Puerto Rico than to be in the middle of Vietnam back then. I remember the newspaper “Claridad”, sold by family members, so thick with violent marxist rhetoric. I even remember hearing family members, that after reading “Claridad” talked joyfully of the day when socialism would come into power and do a cleansing of society even if it had kill millions (and the Killing Fields just began back then). I wonder why those same socialists that used to voice their support for such rhetoric in those years (Mari Bras, Gallisa…) are so quiet now about the Killing Fields of Cambodia. These are the same folk that want the Navy out; hey they want the entire U.S. out of Puerto Rico. Well, beginning in the 1980 I remember being in college when the Macheteros bombed the National Guard airplanes out in the International Airport. Even I felt some awe at their daring act. But later they shot a bus filled with some recruits down in Sabana Seca, and that was a nasty act. There was no end to what these guys could do. At that moment the Puerto Rican people got fed up, and even Mari Bras had to admit that there was no public support for these actions. The Machetero jerks got arrested in the middle of the night by the FBI, and political violence in Puerto Rico was not heard again for the next 15 years. Now we have a jerk leftist President [Clinton], with an elitist attitude [nobody knows better than him what Puerto Rico wants or needs, his heart is full of compassion for these poor souls rotting in jail because of their righteous cause… he is the “papá” of all, just like papa Stalin]. Nah, Beany Baby, you don’t know what Puerto Rico is, or what this violent political movement is. Clinton thinks that Puerto Rico is Ireland, with lots of Puerto Ricans backing these guys, and what he ignores is that these guys represent less than one percent of the population, that not even the other nine percent of those favoring Independence don’t want to be associated with them. That with these guys in jail the Puerto Rican terrorist movement was nipped in the bud. I will not be surprised if in less than five years terrorism sky-rockets in la Isla del Encanto, not by these old timers, but by the new jerks they inspire. And they will only make matters difficult for us who are in the States, trying to make a living far away from home [may be because Puerto Rico is a difficult place to find a future because of our very patronizing culture – you can’t get anywhere there without a good “Pala”]. Beany Baby, go to a good library at a big university and read the news-paper archives, and study the history of Puerto Rico: you will notice that the Leftist Movement has been very intertwined to Separatism, and that they really only do a lip service of looking for what is best for our People. And then some people do not want to know or hear the Truth.
