Hello!
¡Hola!
I am just starting to learn Spanish,
Estoy empezando a aprender el español (I'm just starting to run -> Estoy empezando a correr, and so)
and English %%% is my Mother toung.
y el inglés %%% es mi lengua materna. (In spanish, you can write the adjetive before or after noun, but meaning isn't the same. Before noun, adjetive has a explanatory meaning. After noun, it has a "specificative" one.
You put "lengua materna", because you specific which language from a imaginary set of languages. If you remove it, meaning is incomplete ("el inglés es mi lengua"... ¿materna? ¿preferida? ¿más querida? ¿más odiada?). On the other hand, "el VELOZ COCHE cruzó la calle" The fast car cross the road. veloz=fast, coche=car. You can remove "veloz": the car cross the road. It's only a explanation meaning.
I would be %%% happy to help you %%% with your english.
Estaría %%% contenta de ayudarte %%% con tu inglés.
