A recent HISTORY CHANNEL documentary makes a strong case that Cristobal Colon WAS IN FACT A FAIRLY WELL TO DO SPANIARD and NOT ITALIAN. It pointed out that Colon apparently did not know how to write in Italian and wrote only in Spanish; the prose was studied by a historical invesitgator who proposes that the style was very Spanish and other evidence is presented about Colon being Spanish.
