Monitor Distortion?

Is this only during your boot-up? Does it work normally otherwise?

You may want to check out your resolution and make sure your card supports what you are trying to run, i.e. your screen refresh rate and your number of colors. Some flickering at start-up is not a problem - but if it continually does this you may want to get it sent in for warranty - that is - if it is still under warranty.

It could be a bad cord/connection on your monitor (which you can't fix), which you couldn't do anything about. It could be something internal with your monitor, or it could be your graphics card (do you have on-board graphics or a card?). If you have a card, you can find a friend who has another card which you can try plugging in and checking.

How old is this monitor? Monitors are pretty inexpensive. Worst case scenario is that you have to buy a new one.

Ciao,

JG
