Hi,
Used to live on the island in the early 70's as a kid. There was a restaurant I believe called "la Cabana del Tio Tom" somewhere in the mountains between Ponce and San Juan. I was only 9 or 10 years old at the time so I may be way off on the location. I also remember long open BBQ pits with chicken and pork cooking. The place was setting on the side of a mountain, all open air, with a great view down the mountain side into the forest. This was way before any super highway to San Juan and the trip back and forth was an adventure of sorts. I will be returning to PR in July and would really like to see the place again, if it still exists. We will be staying in Rincon and renting a car to get around the island. Directions from Ponce or any town nearby the restaurant would be really helpful. I also have an in car GPS, so the address would be great too.
We are also open to any other restaurant suggestions in Rincon, San Juan, or Ponce (or for that matter, the entire island). I am very excited

about the trip and welcome any tips.
