Question

Hi everyone! I need a recipe for something but I don't know how to spell it....so I'm going to try it the best I can. Pataligos. It's made with round discs filled with hamburg meat and then folded and fried. I know its seasoned with either Recaito or Sofrito and you use Sazon. I had a delicious recipe for it but I lost it! If anyone knows what I'm talking about, could you please post it or email it to me? Thanks so much!
Missy

Pastelillos

You are looking for PASTELILLOS...

You can buy the disks (Goya brand) in the frozen food area of any supermarket like Publix, specially in larger hispanic population areas. Same thing for the sofrito.

My personal recipe is

Sautee 2 tbs of sofrito in olive oil for about 3 minutes or less

Add ground beef (1 pound) or vegetarian soy meat crumbles and stir fry

add 3/4 cup of water and Sazon. Continue cooking in low-medium until most water has evaporated.

use this filling with the pastelilllos disks, close them by wetting the outer part with water and close the disk in half. Press the aouter edge w/a fork to seal

Fry in medium for about 2 minutes each side.

Good Luck!!

Talking THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for the recipe! I really needed it! They are SO delicious and I was sick of having to buy them made all the time. I still have no idea what happened to the recipe I had but if I remember correctly, this ones not to far off. I think the other used Recaito instead but I think the Sofrito is better anyhow.
Thanks so much!
Melissa
