Medical Statistics in PR

How do you do Medical Statistics in PR? How do you determine that people in Vieques are more suceptible to Cancer than anywhere else in the world?

First, get yourself a faithful independentista group of Medical Students from the UPR Medical Campus, who are not officially tied to the PIP. Make this research group as anonymous as it is feasible (after all, who comes to review statistical surveys anyway to examine validity nowadays ?).

Second, go to the poorest neighborhood in Vieques (or any municipality you wish to politically target) and get the sickest group of people around. You can achieve this by picking a street where most people are retired and in their latter stages of life, or the poorest street in town where you know that the terminally abound after spending most of their financial resources in health care .

Third pick yourself the smallest survey population you can get away with; say 100 individuals from a 10,000 population .

Fourth, AGAIN make sure that you have the sickest 100 people from that 10,000 population, to make your "representative" sampling .

Fifth, after you get done separating the different categories of illnessess, now the nice part comes, in EXTRAPOLATING the data that you got to the rest of the population .

Sixth, and final, post you resolts in the most favorable media outlets (El Nuevo Dia, Associated Press, EFE, Claridad, to name a few) .

Seventh, the same group of researchers will also be part of the Vieques Protester Group, and any other Active Political Unit in the independentista world, so make sure that the reporters covering all the marches never divulge the fact that the illustrious medical researchers are among the ruphians throwing sticks and stones on the authorities .

Eigth, if all else fails, send your "medical students" to Cuba for training in bomb making and other military activites .

¿Como se hacen las Estadística Médica en Puerto Rico? ¿Como determinas que la gente en Vieques es la mas suceptible al cáncer de el resto del mundo?

Primero, consigue un grupo independentistas fieles en el Recinto de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, que no estén oficialmente vinculados al PIP u otros grupos separatistas de Puerto Rico [fácil, emplea “prepas”]. Luego has que este grupo sea tan anónimo como sea posible (después de todo, nadie hoy en día corrobora si los estudios estadísticos estan hechos por personal cualificado, ya que el asunto es muy profundo en matemáticas para el pueblo en general y para los grupos de oposición política en particular:rolleyes .

Segundo, vete al barrio mas pobre en Vieques (o del municipio en particular que quieras hacer tu blanco político), y consigue el grupo de gente mas enferma. Puedes lograr esto mediante buscar la calle con mas gente retirada y en las postrimerias de su vida terrenal, o yendo a la seccion mas pobre donde probablemente encontrarás varias personas desahuciadas que han gastado todos sus recursos en mdeicamentos .

Tercero, busca el muestreo poblacional mas pequeño posible, digamos 100 individuos de cada 10,000 .

Cuarto, cerciórate que este grupo de 100 personas son las mas enfermas de todo el grupo de 10,000, para hacer que tu muestreo sea el “mas representativo” posible .

Quinto, después de separar las distintas categorías de enfermedades, ahora viene la tarea de extrapolar este grupo “poblacional” .

Quinto “A”, elimina las personas con solo SIDA del grupo, y utiliza los datos de las personas con cáncer (aún cáncer del tipo asociado con SIDA, Sarcoma de Kaposi). Si encuentras que en este grupo de enfermos un 20% tenía cancer, diz que 20 de cada cien viequenses tienen cáncer, aun cuando en realidad sean 20 de cada 10,000 .

Sexto, reporta los resultados estadísticos en medios noticiosos “favorables” como El Nuevo Día, Prensa Asociada, Agencia EFE, Claridad, entre otros .

Séptimo, ese mismo grupo de “investigadores cientificos” también forman parte de los grupos de protesta en Vieques y otros grupos mas de activistas politicos en el movimiento independentista, así que toma mucho cuidado que los reporteros cubriendo las marcahas en contra de la Marina nunca divulguen la identidad de este grupo de “próceres de la investigacion medica” entre los que le tiran piedras y palos en contra de los oficiales del orden público .

Octavo, si todo esto falla, envía tus “estudiantes de medicina” a Cuba para entrenar en hacer bombas y otras actividades militares .

This is one of the most rediculous and unfunny post I have ever seen, because it is a half truth. Many people do lie about the Vieques situtation, including the PNP, but most are not independentistas. Norma Burgos is PNP but she protested with Ruben Berrios, Sila Calderon is PPD and she is fighting this. 5.3% of Puerto Rico is independentistas, but I saw hundreds of thousands march in a highway last year and thousands of protesters in Vieques and in fron of El Capitolio on 4/27/01, so I guess MOST OF Puerto Rico is in favor of this. Scientists from all over the world are on the anti-navy side, and a few in the USA NAVY FUNDED AND RUSHED scientists are against who admitted Vieques residents do have adnormalties compared from any other persons in the Puerto Rican or Carribean area but say it is not the Navy! Also El Nuevo Dia is owned by the decendents of Luis A Ferre and is a mostly PNP ewspaper, so I guess the truth is out, a newspaper job is to set out the truth even though I dont trust ELD. The the PNP polititicans dont want to hear but will from the shelling of their neighbors and the votes of the elections!

Norma "la Gorda" Burgos is really in the Party of Herself. She is not seeking Statehood, all she is seeking is her moment of fame. Well she got it, but not from the PNP.

If you multiply 5.3% by almost four million you get quite a crowd, even bigger than the actual crowds protesting the Navay's presence in Vieques around the San Juan Capitol. You see, as a former independentista that I was, I know how counting works in favor of those making the count. I know that the counting was not done by the FBI or any reliable counters, but by those who were marching themselves: which is the same as letting the foxes protect the hen-house...

About El Viejo Día being the Statehood News-Paper, you are in a 25 year timewarp . Back in the 1970's El Nuevo Día was a pro-statehood paper, but not since 1989, or so. I wonder why... I know: it is a paper run by a Ferré wannabe, that is, a member of the family who long ago called it quits with the family ideals. If you remember, Patty Hurst, the heiress of the William Randolph Hurst fortune was for a few years a Marxist terrorist herself, but I guess these are facts way beyond your intellectual reach. Anyway, it is sufficient to say that Ferré Junior is not alone is his LEFTIST leaning, also Ferré's daughter has been known for quite a few years to be much more than a "socialist" thinker (and I am not talking about Ferré's sister, Sor Isolina Ferré who happens to be a holy person).

So add the facts up hombre, and you'll see that I am not making things up when I say that those medical studies being touted in the Papers, and particularly by the extreme Puerto Rican Left, are not really scientific by any stretch of the imagination .
