Dorado in September?

Hello -

My wife and I are planning to travel to Puerto Rico in early September. We've got a good deal on a 5 day package to the Hyatt Cerromar in Dorado. Can anyone tell me what the weather and the area are like? I know September is still hurricane season, but I am asking about temperatures and average rain. Is it normally sunny, or always rainy? Also, we've been told we don't need to rent a car (though we will for a day to go to San Juan). Is this true?
