Question

Hey, I currentlty live in Baltimore, MD. I have a job opportunity that would allow me to relacte to a number of cities in the U.S. including San Jan, PR. I'm seriously considering doing something completely different with my life and moving to San Juan sounds as about different as I can imagine for myself right now.

I was just hoping that someone can give me some insight as to what liveing in San Juan would be like. What are the living conditions? (ie cost of living, availability of places to live, apts, homes ect.) I have no wife or children to hold me back or tag along. I just want to be sure that I'm able to survive comfortabley on my own down there.

If anyone can offer any information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

It depends where you want to live. There are all kinds apartments and rent prices. If the area is good, you will pay more. For a single man is easier, you don't need a lot money to live. If you work for a company outside P.R. you may not have to file local Income taxes (they are high), just federal but don't take my word for it. Yo may want to bring your car but make sure it has a good alarm system, you can lose it, no kidding. The prices are a little higher than Miami which is the closest thing to it.

One suggestion, don't get anyone pregnant and avoid marrying and if you do it anyway, don't have more than one child. Believe me, this is good advice. The age mayority in P.R. is 21. That means that you will be broke for the next 21 years should something go wrong in a relationship and you have to pay child support. Besides, P.R. women are VERY temperamental. Good luck.

I'm a single 26 yr old male. I moved here about 14 months ago and it was the greatest move I ever made. Great weather, friendly people, good beaches and gorgeous women. Send me your email and I'll be able to answer direct questions regarding rent, location, taxes, etc.
