Question
I have been paying child support for my daughter who lives in Puerto Rico via ASUME. I wish to find out if once the child becomes 18 years old, should I continue sending the support to ASUME or to her? I have called the ASUME offices over 100 times and written letters with no luck in finding an answer. Does anyone know the answer?

The legal age for child support in PR is 21 years old. I have almost the same problem with ASUME. I have two children over this age and ASUME have not answer me abput a revision of my case.

By the way, keep sending the payments to ASUME, that way you will have proof of payment.

Until 21. If the child has 3.5 grade average and is in college, you have to pay until 23. Check lexjuris puerto rico or ask a lawyer.
