Trying to find my history. Help!

My name is rosa villalobos, I am puerto rican, but was born and raise in L.A,California. I wanted to find out about my family history. My great-grandfather was a polition in San Juan, I think possibly in 1944. Could someone show me how to find out more on him??? I know his name was Rafael Villalobos, Not sure of anything else. Could anyone give me a hand to find more info.

You should probably start through the genealogy forums.. You didn't mention what town he lived in.. but if you look up the town on this website: http://www.hispanicgenealogy.com/que...puertorico.htm you might find other relatives who can give you further information about your family's history..
I've been to this web-board many times and have been able to contact family who I hadn't seen or heard from since I was a child.. You might have the same luck..
