Question

What are your favorite Puerto Rican writers and poets. (English and Spanish) There are so many to choose from, Jose de Diego, Lola Rodríguez del Tío, Eugenio María de Hostos, Luis Muñoz Rivera, Luis Muñoz Marín, Manuel Alonso, Julia de Burgos, Nemesio Canales, Luis Lloréns Torres, Juan Pedro Soto, Nicholasa Mohr, Miguel Piñero, Mariposa, Piri Thomas, Judith Ortiz Cofer, Esmerelda Santiago, Giannina Baschi, Enrigue Laguerre...etc and much, much more.

My favorite Poet has to be: José de Diego, because of his nationalism, pride, awakened spirit and imagery. He reminds me of José Martí.

My favorite Writer so far, because I've still haven't fully been expose into the wonderful world of Boricua literature, is: Nicholasa Mohr, because I could relate to her in being a Nuyorican, struggling for identity and through life itself.
