Talking

If you like foreign films, like I do, you'll enjoy this one. It's Iranian and a story about life and human nature in all its forms. A widower has a blind son and has trouble accepting him. He is late picking him up from the school for the blind for summer break. Even after all the other kids have left, the boy is still waiting. Then when he finally shows up, he asks the school personnel to keep him for the summer. The boy who plays the part is actually blind himself. Although his father sees only a burden, his "Granny" and sisters love him and see the potential in him. The cinematography is beautiful. I had no idea Iran had such beautiful countryside. I always thought it had an arid climate, but this film showed lush green meadows and forests. The story unfolds as the characters go about their daily tasks. I was totally captivated by it. If you don't mind reading subtitles, I think you'll find this film worthwhile.
