I applaud everyone's interest in their Puerto Rican Heritage. I think it is important that we understand our heritage and culture in order to better understand who we are, and, more importantly, so that we may understand who we are becoming, which is not that same as who we should be. May I suggest some books that may be more acurate in terms of historical value than anything that you may find in a website:

Obras Escogidas - Pedro Albizu Campos 1923-1936 - Editorial Jelofe - Distribuye benjamin Torres

La Nacion en la Orilla - Luis Fernando Coss
Editorial Punto de Encuentro

These are just two to begin with. If you'd like I can suggest more.

William how can you say you want to know about Puerto Rican heritage, but then say but I want you to leave out this part...and that part. Whether you accept it or not, Puerto Rican is Taino Indian, African, and European. I think you have a lot of self hatred. You stated that you are glad that you look white, so is that what you are doing at Devry, passing yourself off as white. You should embrace every part of who you are. I learned that Latin rhythms in Cuban and Puerto Rican culture are inspired by African rhythms. You have to get off the high horse of I am better than you are. All cultures are rich. You sound like the type of person that insults dark skin Puerto Ricans and pass for white whenever and wherever you can.

Africans were enslaved by the Spanards. Had they not been we'd still be Puerto Ricans. I'm interested in the Tanio's for now.

P.S. I do try to pass myself off as white. Perhaps your right, maybe I should just stick with this kind seeing that you (PUERTO RICAN)seem to have so much hatred for me. Do me a favor and hate me on a different topic this ones just for a select few.
