why are men afraid of commitment and being with the same woman

Hey papi's -- listen I want to know what is the big deal with MEN and commitment. Once a man see's that a woman is getting on the serious side of the relationship you men want to hit the rode. What is the deal......
Please help me understand. I Seem to always get the men or may I say boy's who are to childish. Yo no entiento

This is kinda long-but you asked for it!
As you may already know, there are a million ways to answer that. I'm a guy, and I don't really see a problem w/ commitment, but then again, from personal experience, some girls act wild and freaky at first- giving me(or men in general) a set idea of who you are. Believe it or not, we have an idea of what we'd like-in the future. For now, we like to wild out. I ain't speakin for every man(cuz I'm not every man) but if act crazed and wild at first, then come out with, "I wanna be committed"- a man's gonna be like, "yo! what the hell happened to the wild chick??" she talkin' funny!!"...
Personally, I aint too crazy about drastic changes. Most people ain't. It's like somebody giving you a brand new ferrari, all shiny and ****- and everything's all good...until you look under the hood and see a Toyota Corola Engine. That engine is perhaps the most reliable and secure engine in the world, but it ain't what you expected. So, you leave, suckin' your teeth, thinking, "what the hell is that about??"

thank you for your reply!!! very interesting. Let me say that I must have written my question wrong. I would expect what you said about getting one thing and it turns into another, BUT I'm talking about a woman who wants to commit and who lets that person know from the door, that she wants a committing relationship and the "man" agrees that he wants a commitment and goes around and cheats and blah blah!! woman just want love and someone who will be there for them as well as her with him. Let me say as well I cannot speak for all women because I am only one, but I know how it feels to get dirt kicked in your face......

you just meet the wrong ones and commit too soon. You should really take your time in the "talking" part of the relationship and open 'em up. It really isn't as hard as you may think. Make sure you let 'em know that sex isn't an option from the door too..that weeds out the bad ones even quicker. Now for the playas, you gotta use a combo. Hit 'em up with questions about family, and how they act around their mom. These are inside tips that should take you VERY far. If a man loves and respects his mom and isn't afraid to show it(cuz talkin' about it is easy as hell, trust me.) Then you get a good idea of what he's got fo' yo' ass.

I am not a papi, obviously.. but I do however know exactly what u mean about the whole commitment thing. I was in a relationship for a year.. with a puerto rican guy straight from Puerto Rico. I asked him right from the start if he wanted the commitment...he said yes. Well let me tell you, I thought dealing with a 29 year old would be easier...you know the older the more mature, the more u know what you want. NOT! After one year of telling me he loves me and so on and so forth...he tells me he cannot be in a commitment. He says he doesn't know how. Whatever Now I feel that one whole year of my life was a waste. Thinking all along he was the one. I really do love him...but I am getting over it. It is his loss! Ass@#!$
