No one can really tell you what to do or what to feel. All I can do is give my opinion. In my eyes and my way of thinking, I would not live with a man unless I was married to him. In your situation, with your children involved and knowing that the only thing that seems to stop you from wanting to marry your partner is that you two need space, I would say marry him, not only for your own but for your daughters sake. Remember only you know what you truly feel and only you two can dictate the decision on marriage. Marriage is a beautiful part of our lives, you two can have space even while living in the same house, the only time you can't do it, is when the two people are not conscious of their individuality, however it seems you two already have cover that. Remember even in a marriage, there are two individuals with two different upbringings, joining together, respect your differences and accept your similarities.
