IT IS SO NICE, TO KNOW THAT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN AND THE DARK SKINNED LATINAS ARE APPRECIATED! I AM LEARNING TO EMBRACE OTHER ETHNICITIES/ CULTURES! AND I LOVE PUERTO RICAN MEN!!!! I USED TO BELIEVE THAT PUERTO RICAN MEN DID NOT DATE/MARRY BLACK WOMEN, ALSO. BUT, I AM ALSO, FINDING THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE! THIS MAY SOUND CLICHE', BUT, FOLLOW YOUR HEART! LOVE HAS NO BOUNDRIES! GOOD LUCK!

What's up? I know I'm kind of late to this discussion, but it's pretty interesting. I'm of Haitian descent, and I've been dating a puerto rican man for a couple months. i feel what alot of ya'll are saying. i definatley think the whole thing is on a case by case basis. my man is from new york, has boys in his clique that are black, pr, westindian,etc.. so it's not a big deal with us being different races. we actually met at a "black" club and he calls himself a "nigga" sometimes. but, i know that there are some men that were raised a little different, and may feel more comfortable with latinas. i don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Hola! I think that PR men do like black women as much as they like PR women. My father is PR and my mother is black. Three of my uncles are married to black women, 2 from PR and one is Jamaican. Maybe PR men are afraid blk women aren't interested in them, and the fact that some blk women fear the same thing, both groups are afraid to approach each other. Many of my male PR friends have dated blk girls. I think that another reason that PR men may not seem to be interested in blk women is because of the culture clash. Some latino men prefer sticking w/ latinas because they are similar as far as culture goes. But all in all, You shouldn't let your fears stop you from approaching anyone. If everyone was too afraid to get to know each other cause of race, this world wouldn't be as beautiful and diverse as it is now!

My husband is Puerto Rican and we have a new son. I am Black American. I have always been attracted to Boriquas, I grew up around them (Brooklyn)and have much respect for them and they for me. In NYC, it is so culturally diverse and our cultures are so close, it doesn't even seem we are in an interracial relationship, indeed some people feel that minority on minority dating is no big deal and it isn't. However, I visited a forum MiGente, and couldn't believe the venom some Puerto Ricans were spewing against blacks and other latinos which was quite shocking in the least because I have never encountered that sentiment. If you are attracted to each other it shouldn't matter what race you are, you are going to encounter some problems culturally but it can be worked out. My Boriqua treats me like a queen and I am so glad I decided to experiment and date outside of my race.

I like PR men as well. I remember when I was a kid, I use to tell myself that I was only going to date BM. Now, it has totally changed, I can't explain how I became so attracted to PR men. So I stop trying to figure it out and just go with the feeling in my heart. I think that's what's you should to Danigrl007. Follow your heart!!!!
