Hi how are you? I just wanted to let you know that i live here in LA too and have found some good music at "Borders Books and Music". Just thought I would give you the info. You can also find some at Ritmo Latino, if there is one close to you. God Bless. Jeni Garcia

Chewy...I'm with you. All the merengue band are awesome, but my favorite group is Oro Solido, Los Hermanos Rosario and Fulanito. I'm in Miami, so fortunately I get to listen to hispanic music whenever I feel like it. Sometimes, though, I prefer to turn up the old school house music and freestyle. Well, gotta run...keep jammin' everyone!

If you cannot find salsa in Califas(the chicanos call it that) then get on the internet and buy it from lamusica.com.
Those salseros that he mentioned are on the money plus there is a lot of new blood out there such as La India, Luis Damon, Frankie Negron, Rey Ruiz, Miles Pena, Laz and do not forget Victor Manuelle who is probably the hottest latin musician out right now and one more guy I can recomend, mr Domingo Quinones who by the way just finish starring in the latin musical "WHO KILLED HECTOR LAVOE" and let me tell you he was "GREAT" I recommend all of you to buy the cd and listen to it. It has a lot of history to it and it talks about how our musicians struggle, make it and destroy themselves a la Frankie Ruiz who was so damm talented(may he rest en la gloria de dios) I saw him perform so many times and each time he never disappointed anyone.
Also you can get music by Oscar de Leon, El Gran Combo, Johny Rivera to name a few and not go wrong.
Here at NYC we get it all so anytime you want to keep up with the latest salsa e-mail me at r.quesada@puertorico.com and I'll let you know what's working.
Hasta la vista Carnales.
