What is your favorite group or singer?

I have been a latin percussionist for more than 30 years. I have been in salsa, merengue and Nueva Cancion bands, and reggae and latin jazz bands also.I have dabbed in african percussion and regular drum set. Finally with the group am in now, Bentetu, we basically play Eddie Palmieri tunes, bomba y plena, Santana cha-cha tunes and old classic boleros that were also recorded in English.We play for all audiences and it seems that this combination is liked by young and old, latinos and non-latinos alike. I always considered myself a salsa clasica guy, meaning none of the bachata, mojar las sabanas types of salsa romantica or that perreo thing, they have nowadays. Give me El Gran Combo, Pacheco, Willie Colon, Rey Barreto, Richie Rey y Bobby Cruz, Los Hermanos Lebron, Machito, Cheo Feliciano, Tito- Rodriguez and Puente, La Lupe, La Corporacion Latina, La Fania All Stars, Joe Cuba y su Sexteto, Ismael Miranda, La Orquesta Harlow, anytime.

Si, mis hijas heredaron mi gusto de la salsa clasica y me regalaron el DC de Harlow para mi cumpleanos. Caramba, a esos dos no los inclui porque no me acorde de ellos pero tambien son de mis favoritos. Te acuerdas (si tienes tantos abriles como yo) de El Sabor de Nacho ( la que era esposa de Roena, Lisedia Sanjurjo acompanaba a Nacho), Joe Bataan,
Charlie Palmieri. Del cubanisimo me gusta lo viejo, los Papines, la Orquesta Aragon, Arsenio Rodriguez, el Compay Segundo, los viejitos del Buena Vista Social Club.
