I absolutely hate Elvis Crespo's music.
Has anyone else noticed that all of his songs sound exactly like Suavemente.
It's almost as if he figures that if that one was a hit - - anything that sounds like it will be a hit too. I think he's talented but he's running the risk of boring his fans into disliking him.

I would like to say that I love Elvis Crespo. Last year when he went to the Wonderland Ballroom in Revere I was able to meet him and take a picture with him. He seemed very down to earth and friendly. His music makes me move ! But at the same time I'd like to say that my husband that is black listens to his music and has said that his music sounds alike. Thinking about it is true. But he still has that powerful voice, so let's not hate him.

Idejesus support you people, sure his music sound alike, remember Gloria Estefan's music in the 80's.
Music goes in a trend, you get a sound and you stick to it while it works then you switch.
That is also why you have so many one hit wonders cause they cannot reproduce the sound.
I'll give another example AL STEWART "Year of the cat" was a humongous hit then he made time passage which was a hit and had the same sound or Chritopher Cross with his album "SAILING" then he came back with a 2nd and did not do so well cause he came out of the gate smoking.
Elvis crespo has paid his dues so let's applaude what the brother is doing.
Ricky martin's music also sounds alike but since is that in thing no-one complaints and do not get me wrong I give rick his props he is the main man right now and my hat goes off to him as well.

OK !! Here we go...

People I never said I hated Elvis Crespo. I said and I quote:
"I absolutely hate Elvis Crespo's music". i give him all the credit for making it big and I do think that he has some talent. It is exactly because I belive that he is talented that I think he should not limit himself musically to a sound that will soon bore everyone. Because if that happens he will be one of many talents who quickly fade into the woodwork. I support my fellow Puerto Ricans, but not to the point of blindness. Constructive criticism is actually welcome by artists, it helps them grow and better understand their audience.
I have purchased his cd's and will continue to do so, not just because he is Puerto Rican, but because only by doing so ( buying his CD's and listening to the product) can I opine intelligently about his work.

Let's expand our minds people.

Cuidense Boricuas!
