Jane,
I quite enjoyed it. I especially liked the first track and "Santa Barbara" with its female vocalist. I have the original version at home...and I love dancing to it. Sometimes I dance to it....and forget where I am. And I just feel the waist and the hips move and the feet and my whole body just follows the ritmo...til the end. And I am surprised I am sweating and breathing hard at the end of a set of dance songs. I love that feeling of NOT thinking anymore, and just FEELING the rythym and the dancing. And allowing your body to become creative. Of course your mind is choreographing things....which I love to do...but just allowing your body to dictate things...is so liberating. Salsa and traditional dance music is so fun. But New York Salsa is sophisticated and only in such a vibrant musical place in which jazz, and salsa, and Cuban son, and Puerto Rican plena and bomba, all URBANIZED becomes a big hodgepodge...fusion is what keeps musical forms so interesting. Following formulaic things forever...it bores everyone.

You know Jane I remember dancing until I felt so light of heart and mind....that anything that worried me disappeared. That physically satisfying feeling one has when one is moving with rythym and speed is so much fun....My father would dance with me...all the time...and he would lead me so well....how, I miss that. You know Jane I danced a bolero with my husband, I just loved the feeling of him holding me close and swaying with me a bit. And I loved the way his body felt when he is close....and we are just together listening to the music and moving...together. IT is so great and relaxing and nice....and I feel so loved.

Thanks for the memories all that music made me think about.

Suki.

Wow that was very discriptive. Almost poetic. Very nicely said.

I use to do that too. Nowadays, 2 songs have me huffing and puffing. And to think I did this all night long every week for ten years straight. Maybe that's why I'm huffing and puffing today!

Your both lucky to have each other.

One thing I miss when I happen to drag myself out for an evening is listening to Boleros at a nightclub. Rarely do they play one. They took the romance out of Latin Music Night at a club. How could you have a Latin Night without Bolero?? I don't think anyone meets dancing to a Bolero anymore. Hearing this wonderful slow, sensual song in the air and suddenly looking up to find this guy standing in front of you with his hand extended, who decided to pick you for a close dance. You! Ok maybe your the only one who said yes to him, but at least he asked. lol.

The link is no longer available. Thanks for the feed back. If you guys want to get the CD please let me know by posting and I'll provide the contact. I must say it is an excellent cd with great arrangments professionally done. The production and lead vocals are by Latin Music Legend Jose Mangual Jr of groupo Son Boricua who is also known for his "Cuero Nama" classic and "El Campanero."
