The song is simply about the beauty of morning and the happiness of song by the workers on the island, with nationalistic love for the island in the lyrics. Despite Puerto Rico's colonial sttus quo, is there any doubt to where loyalty resides by the song’s writers, singer’s, musicians, and - most importantly – joyful listeners?"
