The Ideal Situation
The Tri-State area [NY/NJ/Ct] has it's benefits as was pointed out, but I am not satisfied with the quality of life up here; never mind the cold. I may have many of the creature comforts that I have worked hard for, yet I have gotten really tired of the daily grind and find it difficult to find satisfaction. Now I am realistic enough to understand that the same misery may await me somewhere else. However, like many of you, I also think that change is good, and also inevitable.
The ideal situation, of course, is to be able to afford numerous residences. Of course, not too many have it like that. As for myself, Arizona or Florida is probably where I will settle, eventually. Fortunately, the snowstorm of early March did not come to pass. NEW MOVIE OUT THERE: CHICAGO BORICUA- a kind of Puerto Rican "Do The Right Thing". My opinion- it was a 6 on a 1-10 scale. Had a lot of unrealized potential. Lot of stereo typing and profanity. Directed by a Marisol Torres. |

New Orleans- como?????????
Oye Borincana-
My criole aint too good; plus I don't swim too good; and I do take to kindly to good old boys; plus the KKK is still fairly active down there. Although, I will point out I have never been out there. I need the Latino environment; South Florida is good for this; probably better than any place in the US and so is Arizona. Miami, is a fairly nice city, but too urban for me; however I do like the northern Broward, Southern Palm Beach area which is more my speed. The city of Phoenix is a phenomenal city; yes it is hot as a motherflower but it is has a lot to offer and there is something about those mountains that impressed me like nothing else. My brother, lived out there for over a decade after living in NJ, Delaware, and Virginia, I never understood what he was bragging about until I finally went out there. Did you ever see SOUTHERN COMFORT?? If you did not, it is a 1980s movie about some Louisiana National Guardsmen that are out playing weekend soldiers in the bayous and start a small war with the local criole bayou fishermen after they fire blank rounds at them. The fishermen mistake the shooting as live ammo, and then the killings begin. I am sure I am way off, but that image of Louisiana natives stuck with me after watching that movie. lol |

Mira Urban Jibaro!
New Orleans is/was??? not like that! Maybe 5 hours away, but not New Orleans. It was a melting pot when I was there. Southerners, Cubans, Ricans, Cajuns, Blacks and a few Creoles (blacks or white who speak broken french..some are mix and some are not). It was a lovely place to live. But I can see what you mean about Arizona. Florida has many KKK members actively waving the confederate flag. I saw Southern Comfort longggg ago. Great movie! By the way did you manage to download that video?

A live suicide
Me da mucha pena sobre lo que paso en New Orleans, pero tengo mis dudas si debemos invertir tantos millones para re-establecer una ciudad en una zona tan peligrosa.
Yes I did down load the videos - they were awesome. Now, check this out. Go back to www.youtube.com *Choose Videos *Go to the search box in the right hand corner and type in suicide *Go to page 7 of the hits and towards the bottom there is an incredible video of a suspect who commits suicide in an interrogation room. It really shows one what police work involves. NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH. Let me know what you think. |

CAN YOU EMAIL THEM TO ME??????? p.s. that's crazy. The cop reacted as if it were a normal visual occurance in his daily life. Not that he was heartless, but desensitized I guess.

Sorry
Sorry-
I misspoke, I did not download the videos; what I meant to say was that I simply was able to upload them, I guess to my RAM, which allowed me to view them. I will check with our in-house Tech to see how one can upload these or perhaps get them through LIMEWIRE. Do you have LIMEWIRE on you computer? [It is a program to allow person to person file sharing]. Do you have a portable drive? If you were to upload these files, you can do so on to the memory of the portable drive and, later, plug and play them on most computers. Cops, especially once they become detectives, have reached a point of desensitization and "thick skinnedness" after years or even decades of seeing what they see. YOU HAVE TO become this way, otherwise you can have a pschological meltdown, this desensitization is a pretty "natural" mechanism that the mind develops for self preservation. This is true of cops, soldiers, ME workers, or other persons that see death constantly. I'll get back to you. |
