Tico Records
Someone should make a movie about TICO RECORDS. I previously mentioned a movie about the Fania All Stars, another good storyline would be the story of TICO RECORDS. It's full of drama, label takeovers, gangsters, Jewish players, Latin Music and R&B. The link provides excellent reading entertainment in the form of a made for tv movie....definitely make a better film then ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK.

In the '40s, the first nationally-distributed independent labels devoted to Latin music came into being - Mardi Gras, Verne, Coda, Seeco and others. George Goldner's Tico Records was arguably foremost among these companies. Read on . . . PART ONE: Mambos and Cha-Chas!
