Sorry but I have to vent!

All my life I heard "Well, you don't look Puerto Rican", "Blanquita", "You dance good for a white girl" bla bla...I'm am 75% PR and 25% Russian,(what a mix!I know, I hear it all the time-) I can't help it if I got the "white" gene. People have to realize that not all latinos look the same. That's the beauty of out culture; we all come in different colors,shapes, and sizes.

NJRICAN, You know there are so many people who wont take the time out to recognize other races, they just assume to throw All hispanics in one group. As the same for other races. You know people were trying to figure out what I was. I told them Im 100% Puerto Rican. They said they never met one before or really heard of us. You know some people are really ignorant and its sad. Its sad to be shelter that way and not go out and venture what is out there. They constantly were asking questions about me, almost everyday....It got old real fast. I finanally told them you know Im in the Encyclapedia, Dictionary, Books, Etc etc, Why dont you do some research on me and let me know what you come up with. That pretty much put a stop to the Ignorance. If people are really interested in you, it should just be all about you, not the color of your skin, hair, eyes, etc etc. You are what really counts....Cuidate Mucho Eda CaliRican...

Hey girl don't listen to those people there just Ignorant.I'm 100%Boriqua and my sister is very white and has blonde hair and green eyes,she's been going thru this sh** all her life .U just have to be and act like yourself .And remember thats what makes Puerto Ricans so unique they com in all shapes and sizes.

Being Puerto Rican, is not a race, it does not determine your color of hair or skin. It only has to do with where you were born and your culture. So, to the people who do not know this, they are just ignorant and therefore their opinion doesn't matter anyway.

I think PuertoRicans are the best educated people, "We know about the whole World but the World don't know about us." We are a proud mix of happy, beautiful people, have you ever seen an ugly PuertoRican? Our Miss Universe Girls, they are gorgeous! I don't know if you have notice that the persons that are surprise because our beautiful skin color, white, mulato, dark, they only know about the town or city they live? (They love to tan in summer, odd, ah? )That's being ignorant. In PR, we're PRicans, we don't look at the color of the skin, but here in USA it's different, seem to be important.
