I am glad you have some downtime by the ocean. That is great. Hector missed the ocean a lot. We saw his ocean finally. He missed it. He grew up in Santurce and would go to the nearest beach on the weekends. I smile so much Leticia thinking about it. When we were dating we would buy some cheap cocos frios and go walk on the beach and talk about anything at all.

Glad to know you have much to do. So do I. In fact I participated in an anthropology research project there for weeks. I am still studying some materials. I found out some exciting ecological preservation advancements made specifically for tropical zones. The region I went to had the most gorgeous and prolific amount of flowering flamboyanes. I swam in natural ponds and underwater caves. And did many other things.

We also have made great progress towards our personal goals. And we got in better physical shape. My friend Laura is going to go to New York to run the New York Marathon. She is now into long distance running and wants me to run with her. Hmmm, I think I am running out of time to dedicate to pr.com as well. But, I wanted to let you know what a fine friend and good person you are Leticia. And I am glad you have so much to look forward to in life's bumpy road.

NegraD I am glad you are near your finish line on your advanced degree. Dissertations really are tough on so many. Trying to be original and yet be scientific and be disciplined and work on all aspects of the academic work is hard work. Good luck.

Lorelei, is a good woman and I hope someday to visit her city and meet such a fine teacher and fine person.

Love to all of you. I am tired. And have so much to do in this world and very little time to do it in.

I don't regret the time I spent writing to others. And writing to those whom gave me such a great education on so many different themes. I think I learned a lot. I love this thread. And all the peaceful and wonderful women who made it a fine place to socialize. Peace to you all in this thread. And peace to all in your lives.

Suki.

Saludos Suki

Yes I agree the beach or just being close to the water places you in a calm mood. I used to take long walks with my husband also. It was where we used to escape from everyday problems. So to me it is a beautiful place to go take long walks or just sit and look at the ocean. It has helped me write some beautiful poems.

I used to do long distance running when I was younger. Now the most I do is take long walks or ride bike. I am trying to stay in shape besides....I firmly believe that exercising relieves stress, besides it conserves the body.

Thank you for coming into or house....even though it isn't what it used to be, like our parents house, the door is always open.....waiting to receive you.

I understand about the sea. When I lived in Japan, my Japanese teacher once told us, "Whenever I have a problem. I go to the ocean, and I see something that is much bigger than my problem, and I feel at peace."

That is true about the ocean, isn't it? It's so big and so unchanging. It gives you a sense of peace to sit and watch the waves roll in. I miss the ocean too.

Suki,

You address me in the third person. Didn't you see my post to you earlier on this thread? I would still love to meet over a cup of coffee or tea. But I have some news. I am moving. I won't be here much longer. If we are to meet, it will have to be soon...

Yes I am the caregiver for my mom and step father. I wouldn't change it for the reason that I feel that society alienates the elderly enough. I think people that are places in nursing homes age or die faster than if they are cared for by family members. It isn't easy believe me especially when they forget everything you told them ten minutes before. I am lucky that I have a brother close by and he releases me. We take frequent breaks. I know it is important to, this I learn from caring for my husband. The caregiver must take time for themselves for their mental sanity. That is why I escape to the beach. Every once in a while I say I am running away and go there. I always carry my journal. BTW I went fishing the other day and caught a pompano. It was exciting, I never knew how thrilling it would be to actually be able to reel it in. This is becoming a habit now for me......fishing.

Enjoy your summer and stay close.

That's right. I remember now your father passed away several years now, so this is your stepfather. It's funny but it seems I know a lot of women that love to fish. I always thought fishing was a man's sport. Probably because growing up, it was always the male relatives who went fishing.

What is a pompano?

Hello!!!

Congratulations Jeni!! I'm so very happy for you. Children are a blessing from God. I should know. I have four grandchildren now, and I feel very blessed. When I came on the forum, I noticed that it is going on seven years since I first joined. Hard to believe so much time has passed. How are you NegraD, Jenn from Ohio, and Letty? I wonder how CJSam is doing and if his book is selling now.
