Agree

I recall the days when it was truly fun to log into this forum and dialogue with Boricuas of different persuassions, namely JaneMas, AnotherRican, Stanley, Yujike, and many more.

It seems like this site started going down hill ever since AnotherRican was banned. Sure, he was an extremist and oftentimes controversial, but let's admit it, his POV's kept us coming back to either see what new crazy extremeism he had posted that day, to ridicule him, or to outright disagree with him. I recall agreeing with him twice.

This forum has become a stagnant place of little interest.

I agree with Ache!

I would agree that this forum used to be an interesting place to come and read some great dialogs. But from what I’ve seen, it was AnPR that killed the abilities of others to actually have a real discussion. Bad manors and an inability to have a dialog, makes for the death of a forum.
Mi opinion!

If that alone were the case then his banning would have fixed everything and would have been smooth sailing from then on but fr what I've read the opposite has happened.

Controversy sells, watch the 6 o'clock news in any channel, they always lead with war, fire, gossip or murder. Or watch the hideous Glen Beck, he is another rican but televised.

I don't believe the answer is closing this forum. We need to focus on the issues that may be drawing people away. Mostly the spamming and when necessary limiting the disrespect among the participants when it occurs. People are drawn to open discussions even if they seem to be "hot Topics" on politics etc however it doesn't justify for the accepted disrespect that occurs at times.

Leticia, you are right about the spamming, I was incensed that this site would do nothing about it, but when it comes to disrespect, I don't take any crap from anybody. If am treated with respect I do the same, but when they attack me for no reason I will react. That was the case with AR and if you have been following this Punkmeister guy, he came in here firing on all cylinders, ready to own and clean house and inmediately raised my hackles by going after all my posts, some of them 4 or 5 years old. He even tried to prevent me from talking about issues that affect the island, because, even tough my wife and I own properties and pay taxes there, we do not reside there. Then he started to insult and demean and again, I had to react to his insousance. I believe we can revive this site, but if people shoot from the hip, there will be consequences. By the way, welcome back!
