Unreachable Star

I saw a star that shined brightly and clear
The beauty it emitted was something, I did not wish to share
I hoped it was mine, till the end of time
But deep inside, I knew, I was out of line

This star was grand; it had so much to teach
No one knew how much, it wanted to be reached
Its’ heart was lonely only seeking to be loved
Never thinking that it was way above

The sky was surrounding it, that we can see
But no one was giving it, what it must need
I wanted to love it and hold it near
However, it belonged to someone, who didn’t care!

They thought they loved it, however they couldn’t see
The feelings they were showing, were only of greed
This star wanted love and acceptance above all
It always wanted to stand very tall

Hiding its’ feelings, way above the sky
Hoping that no one knew, it was living a lie
I wish I could reach, deep inside this star
And give it my love even from afar!

Thumbs up Lety,

Very nice poem! It takes on so many different meanings. So many different life situations may be applied to this poem. Thanks for sharing it with us!

How are you doing? I haven't talked to you in a while. Are you over your asthma?

Thumbs up

Fantastic poem, Leticia_g. The emotions that you tried to unleash on your poem, is clearly visible and beautifuly portrayed in your free verse writing style. Keep up the good work, and I hope the person in your poem could realize how you feel and the reality of his or her lie.

Jen

Thanks for sharing my poem. I'm glad you liked it.

Concerning my asthma, I am slowly recuperating. The Winter really attacks my asthma. I need a warm climate to live.... maybe Puerto Rico will be my destination soon.

The only thing is that Jim won't go.

Take care my dear daughter.
