GUINEOS=PUERTO RICAN NAME FOR BANANAS
PLATANOS=PLANTAINS.EVERYONE ELSE CALLS BANANAS PLATANOS.GUINEOS AND PLATANOS ARE DIFFERENT.I'M PRETTY SURE THE OTHER PERSON CHATTING WITH YOU WAS NOT PUERTO RICAN,BUT THAT'S WHAT WE NAME BANANAS.EVERYONE ELSE JUST EAT THEM YELLOW.WE COOK THEM GREEN AND MAKE PASTELES ,ALCAPURIAS AND SANCORCHOS.WE KNOW OUR BANANAS.(GUINEOS)

I call plantains platanos and regular (smaller) bananas, bananas. But that is based off the difference in size between the two and the fact the people I'm around are FREAKED OUT when they see platanos, thinking they are mutated bananas or something.. lol... and not knowing that buying them when they are green is the best time to get them... lol
