ETHICS

[i]Now, I know, some people think that ethics is choosing forks and spoons in a formal dinner.

But, for the rest of us who don't care about what falls out of a "cracker-jack box", ETHICS is the stuff of HUMAN RELATIONS.

Now, cats and dogs don't grasp ETHICS.

Neither do hyenas or baboons.

Whales with brains 10 times as big as ours can't even fathom the concept.

What are ETHICS?

They are the rules and criteria by which we determine our actions are "good" or "bad".

It is the STUFF of MORALITY.

Animals compete in all kinds of athletic endeavors, but they don't stop to think or argue if a given "choice" they have made and its consecutive "action" is "good" or "bad". It is an ABSTRACTION that requires the notion of BEYOND PHYSICS.

Now, lets see the ETHICS as seen by those who assume that "MATTER IS ALL THERE IS" (like Sir Pothead Calr Sagan):

ETHICS is a set of values determine by human beings and based on both social consensus as the need of the moment where the consensus is arrived at.

Based on this statement, ETHICS are not trascendent, they are a moving target implemented on ad hoc basis to suit the time. Thus, it gives the members of a given society moral comfort, if in their time it is legal to abandon unwanted babies for the alley cats and dogs to devour. Based on this norrow idea, 98% of the German Population that supported Adolph Hitler is guiltless for the HOLOCAUST and for their crimes against humanity, you see, they all thought they were doing the right thing, and their monolithic culture validated all their actions in carrying out the FINAL SOLUTION..."[b].

Clearly, ETHICS must be more than that, otherwise, every time society breaks down in violence and lawlessness there would be no way out.

In FACT, the heir of former MARXISTS are exactly driving the idiocy of this notion to its logical conclusion, and that is why modern MARXISTS are called thus no longer, but they call themselves ANARCHISTS. Even Sir Ed, "Ye-Olde-and-Crusty-Marxist-Snake" cringes at the thought, and in his anachronistic mind, he deems ANARCHISTS to be just a new front for his old MARXIST ideal. I got news for you, even Putin, whose inner gospel is according to Karl Marx, is totally opposed to the new world order being pushed by the ANARCHIST crowds that have marched in most G8 meetings, and such.

And, Sir Ed can vouch, that in a world dominated by NO-ETHICS, such as spoused by the ANARCHISTS, it is just the prescription for disaster, for only the toughest and meanest would survive.

Thus, this brings us to find out a set of ETHICS that is not bound to popular whims, that is not a matter of market economics, nor of political and social favoritism.
