[i]First of all, Statehood has not won a plebiscite yet.
The last one, in 1998, the only one who lost big time was independence, with only 2.5% of the votes. Also, worse than independence was the Associated Republic crowd, which only recieved 0.3%. Quote:
Now, IF we have a TWO-WAY plebiscite between Statehood and Independence, I doubt very much that Independence will rise over 10% of the votes .Wait 'til then ...IF Congress wants to still give us a cold-shoulder, I am willing to accept Independence. But NO UNTIL THEN. Let the VOTERS decide. Can't you accept that ?

Manuel,
Lol. I respect whatever the majority of Puerto Ricans choose as their path. Never would I oppose them. Now the majority of Viequenses want the Navy out. The US Navy and the US gov't did not care about their decision for one hill of beans. You Manuel think ignoring voters desires are ok as long as it does not favor your side....pro-Navy. So as far as you respecting majority votes eres un hipocrita. Now, I think el ELA needs to be gone. Limbo and no definition indefinitely is detrimental. But I must tell you my deepest held belief is that if you got 95% or higher votes for the Statehood question you will find D.C. heeing and hawing and coming up with more excuses. Lol. And those same people are the ones you identify with and trust. I will still respect the Puerto Ricans majority vote, regardless of my own voting habits...lol. But the question is not about my respect Manuel....it is will the USA respect the Puerto Rican voters. And if you were a regular estadista like a lot of my family members who vote PNP but who love Puerto Rican culture and tradition....then I would see you differently. But those disdainful remarks about Puerto Rican culture and people....no, I can't think you have anything good in mind for the island...I think you hate your own culture Jibaro. And it is sad. Because you are Puerto Rican yourself. I don't understand how you can tell someone that your own culture is so depraved. I do not understand it. I never will. I must do some research on Aztec Standards for the Museum. And to look at the long and rich history of Mexico is a wondrous thing. I do not see Mexico as a country that should be wiped off the face of the earth because it has criminals, poverty or etc. NO. Mexico is light and dark. And one must see all people as mixtures of dark and light...That is what the quote is all about in my sig. Lol. I hate people's ideals to be broken...but PNP in my humble opinion is bound for some ugly and rude awakenings when they realize that the USA never had the intention of playing fair....from the word go.
