I don't care about what you say either Ponce. And the reason why a lot of ricans are in the military is because in many towns and cities on the island there are few employment opportunities with benefits for their families and many of them do it for the steady paycheck....after basic brainwashing they start believing whatever the higher ups tell them because they fear the consequences...the brig, or the MP's or whatever. And they become yes men. And believe the enemy is out to get them. That is military thinking in general and you have manifested it perfectly. The "allies" and the "enemies". The "us" and the "them".

The black and the white. The good and the bad. The right and the wrong. Yes, preschool schemes of one side or the other is what all these military career folk will always believe. They hate us in Bahrain....but we are bringing the light to the ignorant. Has it ever occurred to you to ask why these people supposedly "hate" you? No. You got a job to do. And then another job and another. And your whole life is a series of duties without much questioning why you do it and the meaning of why it is required to be done. And soon no more questioning authority or reasoning why things happen and what could have been done to prevent the escalation in the first place.

Yeah, I think you have zero to do with my security or freedom. Thank you for proving that so eloquently. And I hope you are safe in Bahrain or wherever you are.

Vinagre y Aceite por fin han terminado de mezclarse.

LOL.

Suki.

AND I QUOTE...IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH ME...MOVE OUT...CUZ THE USA IS FOR THE ONES WHO AGREE WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND WHO SAY RAH RAH GO GO NAVY!! I would never kick you out of wherever you live. You have a right to live wherever you choose Ponce. Eres humano y tienes derecho a vivir, trabajar y proteger tu familia. Y yo tambien...pero la intolerancia siempre le sale a los que hablan de libertad y democracia...son hipocritas...libertad por los que estan de acuerdo con ellos...lol.

Lightbulb Re: YOUR FREEDOM

Suki,Goes to show that you live in a little box for a world! You call it basic brainwash and even as it is intended to this, it breaks very few and many get through with their thoughts beliefs intact. You really know so much that you really know nothing! I do not live locked up and in all the places that my duties have taken me I have been blessed to find friends regardless of what they thought of the USA or its government. I take my liberty to interact with the host country, regardless of what is at stake its called not mixing pleasure with business! Do you even know where Bahrain is? I do not think that all of these people are out to get me or anyone in particular but yes you have some that one not mind killing a few of Americans. See you talk to talk and not really to say anything, just like the sound of your voice or simply to read what you wrote?
Tell you what can you tell me when was the last time you had to check the bottom of your car to see if there is a bomb attached to it? See that is what goes on out here and I thank God that it has not happened to me, but this does go on out here.

I can say that yes we are like a bad chemical reaction, but I can say this THANK YOU FOR THE BLESSINGS.

Oh Ponce I finally saw your human side and sincere side. Lol. Thank God for that.

I can't speak publicly of what happened to me in my teen years...but all I can say I did get bomb threats. And threats against my parents and visits by the FBI for a brief time. Why? My parents did not own guns, did not believe in violence. They did believe in organizing people who had gotten a rotten deal from the USA government and exposing los trapos sucios...(like you like to call it) and they the government folks had no qualms about calling up a thirteen year old girl and telling her they were going to blow her parents away...and laughed about it. So yes Ponce I do know how it feels to worry about bombas...and it is not a good feeling. Especially if it comes from your "demoncratic" government who you serve, but whom I will never trust or will like ever. Peace be with you Ponce. Lol. I think you will never know me. And that is okay.

Suki.

Lightbulb Re: I GUESS YOU WILL NEVER KNOW ME

Suki,

Your right I may never know you, just like you will never know what and who I truly am.

I will never want Puerto Rico to be the 51st state. To me that represents the death of Puerto Rican culture, language and way of being. The Hawaiians have lost so much, their language, their traditions and even their land eventually to those rich and influential enough from the goliath in the north to the point where they are desperately clinging to whatever bits of Hawaiian thought and history they can. It is the death knell for 500 plus years of blending together 3 peoples and making a strong culture. Despite as Jibaro puts it "pop" and "trend addictions" we are very puertorriqueno in world view and style and thought still. I should know I study cultural definitions for a living. I will never consider statehood for Puerto Rico as a joyous event. But if it is the will of the people and they truly and freely choose it. I will accept it. And in order to preserve my latin american leanings will leave to a latin american nation. But will always keep my Puerto Rican love forever. Or I could stay in Puerto Rico and dedicate myself to Boricua cultural preservation and arts. A worthy endeavor even though I would know that after many years....that is all Boricua culture will become a museum piece after the assimilation process is completed. And God help the pro-statehood ricans who never thought we would become another generic anglo speaking state. Cuz that will be our destiny with the statehood vote. Estadidad Jibara and no change in our culture is for fools to believe. And I am not a fool especially on how fragile cultures are to dominant systems...I studied that for the last 15 years of my life. Take care Ponce. And I hope it is in a truly INDEPENDENT Puerto Rico we have the cafecito in and not the death knell. Adios

Suki.

Lightbulb POINT TAKEN

Suki,

Your point is taken and understood clearly! I could not agree with you more, but like I said until the day that our people have the right to elect their destiny. Even as I do not agree with statehood I can only respect and accept our people choice one that I hope that we do not have to regret. Do you know that I made a comment to a friend of mine concerning Puerto Rico becoming a state and me moving to Costa Rica or some country in Latin America, funny that we can agree finally in something! LOL I will keep the coffee warm in hope of a PUERTO RICO LIBRE.
