Yep, you are right my Friend Ponce, the lower antillians are part of South America, but according to the New American Desk Encyclopedia, 2000. The North American continent comprise of the arctic region, USA, Canada, Central America, the Carribean Islands, and Greenland. It is the 3rd largest continent, and covers 95,000 miles of coastline.
In reference to Mexico, I know a little because my wife is from Mexico. The Mexicans call themselves Mexicans. Those from del Efe are from Mexico City, la Capital, DF, El Efe, Del Efe (Chilango). You can always tell a Chilango by hearing their accent. Remember Cantinflas? He always used the Chilango accent for his character. Anyway, Mexico has 31 states and one federal district (distrito federal; aka el efe). Hope this clears things up. Orale Carnal! |

The Americas are the very last piece of iceberg from Arctic circle to the last of the tip of Tierra del Fuego. Lol. The Greater Antilles and the Lesser Antilles is how the the Caribbean region is categorized. The Greater Antilles are: Puerto Rico, Espanola (Haiti and the Dominincan Republic) and Cuba and Jamaica. Lol. The lesser Antilles are any islands after the ones I mention all the way to the closest to the South American Continent...lol.
The official name of Mexico the country is: Estados Unidos Mexicanos. And Latinopr is right. 31 states and the Federal district each having a state capital...but all laws of the Federal district of Mexico City have precedence...sort of like Washington D. C. and the state capitols. Lol. Officially North America is Mexico, USA and Canada. Central America is composed of: Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Belize and Costa Rica. Lol. Panama used to be part of Colombia until 1911-1913 when the USA needed to make a shorter boat route from the US's East Coast to the West Coast cities such as San Francisco and Alaska territories, etc. Before that the ships that needed to deliver goods on boat from New York City to San Francisco had to sail all the way down under the tip of South America (whose seas are dangerous) and up up and up to the North American west coast. Thus the desperation to make the canal zone happen. Nicaragua was first considered the ideal place to build the canal. And Lake Nicaragua was supposed to be easy to contstruct through but Nicaragua was becoming difficult due to the peasant uprisings and also, the USA's tough and stupid policies alienated many from the project....Walker ex-dictator from the good old USA did not help any...lol. So the USA poured great amounts of money on a campaign to make Panamanians feel that Bogota and the central Colombian government was horrendous and backed the independentistas in Panama. Once they (the USA ) obtained their objective any control the Panamenos thought they would have was quickly discarded and military rule of the Panama Canal Zone become a USA military operation. Panamanians were not even allowed to fly their flag for many many years in the Zone...even though the zone was in Panamanian territory. Lol. Oh, btw the British attempted to take over Nicaragua....sort of like they did in British Guyana in South America but they never could make inroads with Managua. They did colonize part of the coast in Bluefields where many Black English speaking Nicaraguans reside until today. South America I could write forever on this fascinating place as well. But I will leave that for another day. Suffice it to say...we are all Americans....just not Protestant, European only descended, Anglo Saxon derived English speaking Americans. I dare to say that our roots in the Caribbean and in Latin American have deeper traditions, cultures and roots to this ancient American land than the people who came on the Mayflower many centuries ago. So any fool who looks at Latin Americans and thinks they are not "real" Americans are total idiots and very ignorant. P.S. By the way the ancient Aztec name of Mexico city was Tenotchitlan...lol. And the symbol in the middle of the Mexican national tri-colored flag is a symbol of Quetzalcoatl. Quetzal was the Nahuatl word for =sacred bird or feathered. And Coatl was the Nahuatl word for serpent. Thus together "feathered serpent" in Ancient Aztec religion. Perfect balance was symbolized by combining Heaven and Earth. Which animal dominates the heavens? Quetzal. Which animal symbolizes and lives near to at all times and dominates the earth? Coatl the serpent. Together they create majestic harmony. La tierra y el Cielo. Feathered Serpent. When the Northern tribes of the Chichimecas and Aztecs were looking for a symbol of balance and where they should start their empire. Myth has it that the ancient Preists saw an eagle with a snake in its mouth standing on a cactus growing on a chinampa in the Ancient lake that used to be where the previous Mayan city was in the Valley of Mexico. They say it was the final sign of unity and perfect balance they were looking for....Heaven and Earth the FEATHERED serpent. Thus there it is the standard in the Mexican flag...lol. Bye Suki. Post Data...lol. for Ecuajey. Tenotchitlan ancient Nahuatl name for Mexico City. Tenotchitlanos.....chitlanos...chilangos. There you have the word origin where "chilangos" comes from...like many Mexican words from a native american language. Nahuatl. Benito Juarez spoke Zapotec. A different language. This is fun. bye bye again Ecuajey.

Many times when I see Puerto Rico participating in international events and how "Americans" call us Puerto Ricans it makes me more proud to be Puerto Rican. It motivates me that <La Republica> has more of a chance than
the accumulation of colonialism. Refrence to "Americans" I use the noun United Stadian. I think is the best noun to use. It is better than "American".
