Purto Rico A State?

Do you really want Puerto Rico to be a state? I know I don't. I think they should leave P.R just how it is

I believe that this new election coming up will be something special. You may be asking why. Well, to many things has happen in PR.
For the first time PR has seen how the US
acts to its territory. Something PR has never experience before. This has open the eyes, and hart of our people. The PNP goes on lying and lying to its people. The selling of the phone company was one of the first blows to the PNP and then there was the millions of dollars the were gone for the help of Aids which was control by the PNP government. Then the final blow, when the PNP Governor look so good in TV and in
60 minutes saying there would be no more shot in Vieques. Then he lie to our people and said, OK, maybe just a few more shots sort of speak. All of this has open the hear and mind of our people. That this party call the PNP can't be trusted and once you have your people felling this way then is the beginning of the end to the PNP. Is there anything that could fix the PNP? Sorry to say that there is nothing to fix this party because is to rooted inside. So thanks to the PNP our people are waking up and saying Boy, image if we were a State. The USA would do what they want with us and there would be nothing we could do. In the news I hear this comments. Some say, thanks God we are not a state. One guy I saw in the Puerto Rican news said: I and many of my friends we were die hard PNP. Now, some of our friends are now going to vote for the PIP or
the PPD. So, you see the freedom of our country is coming with the vote of our people. As I said before, as long as the PPD
win on and the PNP make crazy mistakes like they are doing the dream of a free Democratic Puerto Rico is not to far away.

I have to say that both of you need to learn how to spell before even trying to use the english language. I belive that each and every political party is P.R. as bad as teh others. I wish as a puerto rican that my country would be free but you have to look at this matter on the realistic side.We all nkow that Puerto Rico will never make it beeing an independant country, then you have the commowealth or E.L.A.wich sucks. Tell me if you would like to be in a situation in wich you are always giving but getting very little or just nothing.........well that is the way U.S.A. looks at P.R., remeber politics is bussiness,not all that nice crap that politicians make the poeple belive; And in bussiness you always have to make a profit, so where is it ???. Just because U.S.A has a few boats over at vieques it does not means the debt is paid. You might be right about the PNP, but you nkow what they are the ones offering the most reasonable option at this point. I feel really sorry for some people in P.R. Is really sad how easy they can be brain wash and make belive all the stupid stuff that they see on the press.People please let's just find some common ground in this matter for your own sake and for the future generations, because is them who will pay for all our mistakes politically speaking.

To start out what is it that Puerto Rico gives to the USA? I ask this because I really do not know.

Now to what I do know Mike you go on with that the PNP this and that, can you really tell me what is it that you are saying? The political parties of the island are a shame to anything decent the PIP has done nothing but lie to us for how many years now.

The only time that you see any of them is for election time that is it. Lets look at Juana Diaz for example the roads are still messed up, something that the politicians promised to fix, but guess what, they got your vote and they also forgot to fix the roads.

Concerning the scandal of the AIDS fund, can you really tell me that the Governor had something to do with this, come on now!!! what happened with David Nogueras? (PIP), Rafael Hernandez-Colon? (PPD), Carlos Romero-Barcelo? (PNP), Ruben Berrios? (PIP), so you see they all have done bad things.

I can really say that Puerto Rico does have to decide its future but first we need to fix all the problems with our political problems!

Can you really tell me that you would trust any of the political leaders that we face today, to take our country into the future? Puerto Rico needs to stay the way it is until we can resolve these things.

YOU GO ON WITH THE SAME THING ABOUT THE GOVERNOR AND ALL HE HAS RELLY DONE IS HELP PUERTO RICO. YOU TALK ABOUT HOW TERRITORIES WORK BUT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT, THE GOVERNOR MADE A COMPROMISE. THE CHOICE WAS DECIDE WITH THIS OR I WILL DECIDE FOR YOU.

CAN YOU REALLY TELL ME THAT THE GOV. COULD TELL THE USA NO? BE FOR REAL, HE WAS ONLY GIVEN THIS CHOICE. IT IS BETTER TO HAVE THEM SHOOT FOR THREE YEARS THEN FOR EVER. THE GOVERNOR WAS CLEVER IN DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION. NOW ON THE OTHER HAND YOU HAVE ANOTHER POLITICAL LEADER WHO IS LEADING HIS PEOPLE INTO HARMS WAY, AND WE ALL KNOW WHO HE IS.

DO YOU REALLY WANT AN ARMED CONFLICT TO REMOVE TO CIVILIANS FROM THOSE LANDS, I AM A SERVICE MEMBER AND I WOULD NOT LIKE TO HAVE TO BE EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE PLACE.

Poohlover, my dear, how much do you know about the history of Puerto Rico. To understand what is best for Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans you must first know and understand its history. It is a 500 year old history of colonialism at the hands of Spain and in the last 102 years the USA.

I applaud your interest in this subject and encourage you to read as many books as you can about Puerto Rico.
