Feeling Left Out: the PIP calls for fairness

Secretary General of the Puerto Rican Independence Party Juan Dalmau accusses Former Governor Roselló and Resident Commissioner Acevedo-Vilá of undemocratic practices by leaving out PIP gubernatorial candidate Ruben Berrios from the proposed debate between all candidates. Roselló leads the NPP ticket, while Acevedo-Vilá heads up the PDP's.

"Excluding Rubén Berrios from any debate among the gubernatorial candidates is an acot of political cowardice...and establishes an anti-democratic precedent in Puerto Rican politics," stated Dalmau. While the arguments and points of view that Berrios will certainly broaden the debate and further increase the various issues to be addressed through the debate, thus adding to the democratic nature of any debate. However, while addressing the democratic-ness of the debate, should one also not draw attention to the level of democracy involved when a candidate runs for a seat, such as governor, which his very own party categorically insists should not exists and goes against every principle of his party.

Hmm...any thoughts are welcomed on this.......even though I feel that democracy in all terms of the word should give everyone the right to be represented,
