Today, almost more than 40% of our people
whant statehood but one thing that the state hood party don't say is the true facts. First, Congreass will never take a territory that she know will bring problems to the Union. They know that PR will bring to much trouble. Is not like Alaska, where USA got it from Russia for money or Hawaie which population was not one million. In the end her population when to only 100,000. PR is another story. You are talking about a nation of more than 6 to 7 million Puerto Rican. Now this includes 2 million of Puerto RIcan in NY not to meantion those around the USA. The state of Alaska & Hawaie didn't bring any fear to the Union but Puerto Rico does. They know that it could break the Union as they know it. This fear alone is more than you need to stop PR from becoming a state. Is to much to loose. If PR population was 100,00 PR would have become a state without PR voting on it. The only true choice is a free PR. With the help of the World Bank and etc PR will be just fine.

Well, I am surprise no one is writing about
this one. It looks like those who believe in statehood had finally notice that statehood won't work because Congreass is afraid that PR could break the Union even if its only a fear. Right?

You can't be serious. Of course we will become a state. But it won't happen until we stop hiding behind the skirt of Common Wealth. Common Wealth was helpful for a while, but now all it does is keeps us in limbo. When Common Wealth is elimianted there will be a landslide for sattehood.

An island the size of Puerto Rico with it's total population couldn't make a dent in the union. How could you possibly think that PR could destroy the union?

Its possible. Look what happen in Austria when the Serbs shoot the presdient or the head of state in Austria to start World I.
You say how could you possibly think that PR could destroy the union? Very easy. Yust the fear along would do and the Union know this.
I can't rember what show it was that talk about this. Maybe it was 20/20, 60 minutes,
