If we want to talk about real time discrimination lets talk about the discrimination against Dominicans. Why do Puerto Ricans on the Island blame all the problems of drugs and violence on the Dominican population on the Island? They are treated like trash and they are not provided with the same rights as any Puerto Rican on the Island. The Puerto Rican society doesn't allow the Dominican that comes from his homeland to look for a better opportunity to prosper. Why is it always the white man who is the only one who discriminates? Our own people discriminate one another. Dominicans face discrimination from the Islands population every day. Why dont you talk about this type of discrimination. It is always America the evil who discriminates never the Island of enchantment.

You're trying to change the subject. Dominicans and Haitians are going to have problems because they share the same Island not mattering their race. There are more Afro-Dominicans its nothing about racism but the two contries ego. Puerto Ricans hate on Haitians also so dont even try that. Why you got the Cuban flag if you know Cubans dont relate to other hispanic groups. The Cuban tends to be conservative far away from the left. If Cubans didn't like Americans hundreds wouldn't try to cross to Florida every month.
You can go to Cuba and live with Fidel and get your monthly roll of toilet paper if you hate the Americans. |

The truth of the matter is that most Dominicans [and other groups] that come to Puerto Rico are welcomed and treated fairly. This has been true for decades. However, the vast number of illegals that are coming to Puerto Rico lately, and almost weekly, are Dominicans. As Americans we, like other countries, have to protect our interests and cannot accept further illegals. This is a fact of life. The desire to exclude illegals is not based on race but on legal and nationalistic reasons. We cannot be the refuge for all refugees; especially in Puerto Rico where the job market, crime, and over population is very serious, we do not need the added problems that illegal entrants bring. The issue of how Domincans treat Haitians is a valid question that goes back hundreds of years. Two hundred years ago there were skirmishes on the Haiti/ Dominican border and the Haitians were run out of Dominica. This tension has not dissipated in spite of the passage of time. To throw stones at Puerto Ricans and call us discrimiatory without being honest about your own actions is hipocritical. That being said, I repeat, and in my own personal conduct, I can tell you that Boricuas have given Dominicans better treatment than any other group; you don't have to take my word for it, just ask around homes. |

There is also issues with Dominicans who come to PR for opportunity and pass their time criticizing Puerto Rico, but these are a minority. As for the relationship between Dominican and Haitians, well, Dominicans call Haitians, "negros" in a despective manner. You be the judge. |

Look who is talking about ignorant. arent you the one who makes unfair comparisons between Puerto Rico and the United States manipulating statistics to favor Puerto Rico. I know how Puerto Ricans on the Island treat Dominicans so dont even try that bs saying they get treated fairly. Why do Puerto Ricans not accept their blackness?? Look at Loiza!! Abuse from police against blacks in Loiza. And how do you know who calls who negros??? Do you live in Dominican Republic to tell? Dominican Republic is diverse more diverse than Puerto Rico and they have alot of Black musicians and baseball players on the scene. Like I said Dominicans and Haitians have problems because they share the same Island. More reason that I know this because I'm Puerto Rican who lived on the Island years ago. I know how they treat black people because I am black myself how you going to tell my I dont know what Im saying.
