Greetings,

I am pleased to announce the release of http://www.melones.org. As a long-time reader and old time poster (2002-/+) of this site, I thought that it would be appropriate (and fun) to toss this url onto the message board.

Enjoy.

That website is embarassing and a joke to the independence movement.

Why is it? Did you even fully check out the website? I love it. Not only because I'm a part of it, but because it contains so much information that's hard to find on the net and outside PR. It's not full of essays about how PR should be a commonwealth, or independent, or just status politics. There are articles on salsa, urbanization, Tren Urbano, Boricua film, and of course, politics, but not in the same fashion that you see on this forum. Plus, it's bilingual, so non-Puerto Ricans can learn too.

If you don't like melones, take it up with the main independence parties. Boricuas are melones, because they feel disenfranchized with them. Plus, as said on the site, we've been [/b]"saving the elections since 1948," lol.[/b] Well, let's not argue about the site, because I know I don't plan to. Visit it, read through it, and even submit an article or commentary.

Ohhhh my friend you are mistaken in one thing. Boricuas are not melones, because they feel disenfranchized with them, but because although they feel a romance with what the independence movement is, they FEAR independence. They are just like other populares just are ashamed to admit they are populares.

This my dear friend, is a quantifiable fact.

As for it's contents, I do not question whether or not it has interesting and cultural information, I question the melonism concept which is just a big farse.

No fighting intended.
