Sad, but once again US shows its dark side in Vieques.
I was stunned to see in the Puerto Rican TV news talking about and showing Marines, and other US officials taking pictures of those demonstrating in Visques. Even the news people were ask why they were there. The TV reporter said that they were doing there job. If I was the one I would have tell them them that it was not there business and other words that I can’t put here. The report also said that the Marines were not only taking pictures but making a list of all those in Vieques. This is really sad to see because you thought the US stood for peace and justice. Were you could demonstrated in peace. I thought they have learn from the 60s and the Vietnam war but I guess I was wrong. In a way I am happy that this is happening because is showing our people how the United State really is. I believe this is going to wake up our people because this has never happen in Puerto Rico. Now, for once I could feel that my people are going to start moving and voting for a free PR. If this don’t proof it to you then nothing will. |

Someone in Puerto Rico.com told me the I went to far when I talk about Politics and I don't think I do. I just try to show the true, to show the light to my people. What I want to know is what the statehood followers thinks about what I wrote above. Don't they think is wrong what happen there and etc.? Maybe this would show the statehood followers along with those who follow the PPD that they have been mislead. If this don't wake you up I don't know what will.

Mike,
You do go too far, not saying that there is not some truth in what you say. Concerning the pictures this is not used against those demostrating in peace but for those who may try to stir up the crowd that may lead into an armed conflict. Many time you see this happen and the outcome is very sad, too many people getting hurt, and this my friend is totaly unnecesary. All of the people whom are staying on the training fields in Vieques are breaking the law, and you know that they are. It is time to let our vote fix this problem and not violance. Can you agree with this? Another thing that I would like to ask you and some of the other Puerto Ricans who may comment on this topic, have you ever been to Vieques? I know I have and on many occasions and the funny thing is that there was never this kind of sentiment against the navy or any of the armed forces until now. As I have stated before the death of the security guard is sad but this was a job which he knew was dangerous and he accepted. Mike, you say you are a pilot correct? would it be fair that we would protest against american airlines and become squater at the airport if you got killed by accident? I really do not think so. Let us show Washington D.C. and the rest of the world that even though that we Puerto Ricans may not think alike but we are and will always be civilized. |

You make some good points. Now, if they were only taking pictures than this is one thing but when you began to make a list on top of this is another. This list they are not going to use it to stop violence but maybe those there might loose there jobs and etc. This same thing happen in PR before. I was a pilot in Vietnam something I don't like to talk about but I saw so many of our Puerto Rican brothers die there but they didn't die for nothing. Is there blood the pays for our citizenship today. Now, my job as a pilot for American Airline does not compare to what US is doing there. You got to remember all 3 parties are there as far as I know. Gandhi did the same thing to free his country India. He did it without violence and this is what they are doing to. They are not looking for violence just like Gandhi. But I am happy this is harping. Is waking our people up to a free Puerto Rico.

Mike,
I love the way you always culminate with how our people are waking up. This is very true that people did loose there jobs once before but how many years have past since that happened. Do you know about the water incident? pictures were taken due to the fact that people were breaking the law, again I tell you, these people are not helping this matter but hurting it even more. squating is against the law what will happen when they start removing these people by force? have you thought of this. I really would hate to see Puerto Ricans fighting each other and this is going to happen unless the supposed leader of this wake up and starts to let the elections fix this problem. One man is dead, how many more will you and your political party let die over this. My brother let the people whom you elected do there job and if you do not like their performance, when you are able to vote again you change them. When we start taking the law into our own hands people will always get hurt. This is only heading to a physical confrontation and we all know this. |

You know, when Gandhi was alive they said the same thing about his political ways.
Yet, it was his peaceful ways the let to a free Democratic India. Who know, maybe this would do it for Puerto Rico. Maybe there is a Gandhi among them or maybe a Gandhi would grow out of this and free our beautiful Puerto Rico once and for all. |

Mike,
You are a piece of work here you talk about ganhdi in another topic you state that P.R. needs a Braveheart... which one is it going to be? Do you really want a braveheart in P.R. would you be the one to lead our people into a certain death? Not saying that we (Puerto Ricans) are missing courage or anything of the sort. How can you be so hypercritical you talk about violance and then talk about peace which one do you want leading P.R. into which ever is going to be our destiny? Oh Mike before I forget I am still waiting to know have you been to Vieques? |
